An Antique Chinese Cloisonné Pedestal/Stand with Cloisonné Rooster Inlaid Top. The top features a circular cloisonné panel set within a slightly recessed wooden frame. The cloisonné panel displays a central design of a rooster standing on a rock among flowering branches, enclosed within a gilt-bordered, quatrefoil-shaped frame. The outer border of the panel consists of a continuous meander pattern in gold on a black ground. The wooden frame and stand are lacquered black and decorated with gilt and polychrome-painted floral motifs. The stand has a wide, scalloped apron with openwork curves and floral embellishments, connecting to four cabriole legs. The legs extend downward and terminate in outward-curving feet, connected by a circular stretcher. The apron and legs are decorated with additional painted floral motifs in red, gold, and light brown. The structure of the pedestal is composed of carved and joined wood elements, with the cloisonné panel securely inlaid into the top. The gilded borders on the cloisonné panel contrast with the black lacquered surface of the stand. China, Circa: 1920
