Large 19th Century French Dore Bronze Mounted Hand-Cut Prismic Crystal Box

Description

A Fantastic and Large 19th century French dore bronze mounted hand-cut prismic crystal box. The mount is hand-chased and hand-chiseled with the finest detail. The entire mount is designed with flowers and vines which are all hand-chased into the ormolu, providing another level of complexity and depth to an already incredible jewelry box. The crystal is beautiful as well with an array or prismic designs throughout, all diamond-cut by hand. There are two sections on either side of the crystal which are bands of straight crystal, providing a different, more robust appearance to the box which differentiates it from the prismic crystal designs. On top of the box is a dore bronze hinge in the form of a wreath held onto the box with dore bronze rosettes. France, Circa: 1860.
