A Pair of 19th Century Louis XVI French Ormolu Five-Arm Candelabra Turned to Lamps. Each is exceptionally cast, hand-chased, and hand-chiseled with a tall columnar body which extends to four ormolu arms which are decorated with angular sections. They further move outwards to curved arms with foliate and acanthus leaf bobeches. The middle has an urn-form arm with ormolu ribbons and fluted decoration. The square bases are decorated with ormolu rosettes and rest on acanthus leaf columnar top feet. The ormolu of these candelabra is exceptional with Empire Period gilding which is truly gorgeous. These were later turned to lamps to be used in any space and setting with ease and convenience. France, Circa: 1850 Height of Candelabra Alone: 21 in.
