Pair of Maison Baguès Rock Crystal, Glass, and Gilt Metal Tree Form “Tree of Life” Two Light Wall Sconces These wall sconces are conceived as vertical tree form compositions rising from a rock crystal vase shaped base. Each sconce presents a branching structure composed of gilt metal stems that extend upward and outward, supporting carved rock crystal leaves and flowers arranged in a balanced layout. The overall silhouette is symmetrical, with a central floral axis flanked by two candle arms positioned at equal height. The candle arms project horizontally and terminate in cylindrical holders fitted with drip pans. Suspended throughout the structure are faceted and smooth rock crystal drops that hang from wire loops beneath the arms, foliage, and base. The lower section is anchored by a carved rock crystal vessel form with a stepped profile, from which additional crystal elements descend. The decoration consists of individually cut rock crystal components shaped as petals, leaves, and blossoms. The flowers are constructed from layered crystal petals radiating around carved central bosses. Leaves are etched with veining and mounted along the stems using small metal brackets. Teardrop shaped crystal pendants are suspended at varying lengths, including beneath the candle pans and along the lower edge of the base. A faceted crystal prism and floral mount form the terminal element at the bottom of each sconce. The gilt metal framework follows the contours of the crystal elements, providing structural support.
