An incredible and rare pair of 19th century ormolu and giltwood mounted Chinese green jade plaques mounted as lamps, attributed to to Edward Farmer. The mounts were produced in New York in the 20th century and are a combination of giltwood and the finest quality of ormolu. The large green jade plaques were hand-carved and hand-polished in China in the 1800's and are of incredible quality, with high-relief carvings of flowers, insects, a scholars stone, leaves, and plants. E. Farmer only chose the best 18th and 19th-century jade pieces to incorporate into his mounts and these lamps are no exception. When bulbs are placed behind the plaques it illuminates any space with gorgeous green hues. Mounts: New York: Circa: early 1900's. Jade Plaques: China: early to mid 1800's.
