Rare Set of Four Louis XVI Doré Bronze Double Light Figural Cupid Wall Lights/Sconces by E. F. Caldwell, New York The set consists of four matching doré bronze wall sconces, each centered by a vertically oriented figural cupid. The cupid is shown standing frontally with arms raised, supporting a woven basket form above the head. From this basket emerge two scrolling candle arms that extend symmetrically to either side. Each arm curves outward and upward in an S shaped profile, terminating in cylindrical candle nozzles. The overall silhouette is balanced and upright, with the figural body forming the central axis and the arms creating a wide horizontal spread suitable for architectural wall placement. Each sconce displays detailed surface modeling throughout. The cupid figure is rendered with defined facial features, rounded torso, and bent legs that transition into a foliate terminal at the base.
