A magnificent antique Lobmeyr Islamic gilt and enameled glass goblet with Islamic calligraphy decoration, signed on the bottom by Lobmeyr. Most probably commissioned for the ottoman market. This goblet is magnificently enameled with cobalt blue, light blue, white, and 24k gold. The design and Islamic Calligraphy are both exquisitely produced with marvellous brushstrokes and calligraphy technique. On the underside of the goblet has the Lobmeyr signature. J. & L. Lobmeyr is a glassware company from Vienna, Austria. It was founded in 1823 and is still family owned. Vienna, circa 1870.
