A fabulous pair of antique Louis XVI style French dore bronze lyre form Andirons/Chennets. Each is exceptionally cast, hand-chased, and chiseled with great precision and quality. The bases are decorated with multiple high relief dore bronze panels which have been matted and burnished and further hand-chiseled. On top of the lyre is a dore bronze finial, while on the opposite end is a dore bronze flame finial. On either side of the lyre are two satyr masks beautifully chased and chiseled. The lyre is mounted on two dore bronze lions' paws, while on the base of the lyre is a lion's mask. Around the lyre are laurel leaves on branches, while around the andirons are wreaths with grapes, acorns, and other fruits. France, Circa: 1860.
